FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q. HOW DO I RESTORE A FADED/OXIDISED
FINISH ON MY BOAT?
A. It is necessary to remove all the “dead” gelcoat
(or paint) before lasting colour and glass can be restored.
In most cases Meguiar’s Color Restorer will do the job.
To ensure the oxidation has been completely removed, check
that the surface feels very smooth. Repeat if necessary or
revert to Meguiar’s Oxidation Remover. Follow with Meguiar’s
One Step Cleaner Wax to polish and protect the finish.
Q. HOW SHOULD I CARE FOR THE FINISH
OF MY NEW (OR LIKE-NEW) BOAT?
A. “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure”
is especially true for boats. Waxing a new boat is easy and
it will
make ongoing maintenance much easier. Apply Meguiar’s
One Step Cleaner Wax to all fibreglass or painted surfaces
as well as brightwork and lacquered finishes.
Q. I HAVE A DARK COLOURED BOAT THAT
IS MY PRIDE AND JOY. HOW DO I GET MAXIMUM SHINE AND GLOSS?
A. Start with Meguiar’s Color Restorer unless the finish
is in as-new condition and completely smooth to the touch.
Then feed and nourish the gelcoat or paint finish with Meguiar’s
High Gloss Polish and follow with Meguiar’s Flagship
Premium Wax for maximum protection. It’s more work but
the depth of colour and gloss are absolutely incredible. |
