Meguiar's MotorEx 2005
The Expo of POWER and PASSION
Now
in its fifth year, Meguiar's MotorEx attracted record crowds
over the weekend of July 2 and 3, not to mention the best
turn out of entrants, including cars, motorcycles and many
new commercial traders.
The
event continues to be a success with the motoring enthusiasts
and builds on the tradition of fantastic growth that it
has experienced from the first show in 2001!

A
key feature of the show was the prestigious Meguiar's Superstars
competition. The most highly contested ‘enthusiast’
award in Australia, Meguiar's Superstars recognises the nation’s
best Street Machines, Hot Rods and Custom Motorcycles. This
year, entrants set a new benchmark of quality, innovation
and engineering. All entries were judged on quality of workmanship,
attention to detail, innovation, level of engineering, use
of custom-made components, extent of modification and degree
of difficulty.

The 2005 Meguiar’s
Street Machine Superstars Champion was Gary and Deby Myers,
with their wild "Silver Bullet"
mustang. Only a handful of points behind were the runners
up of Laurie Grima's ‘55 Chev Coupe, and Paul McKennariery
with his ‘48 Custom Hudson.

Mick Fabar was
the 2005 Champion for Hot Rod Superstars with his immaculate
A-Model Pick Up, "Swuoop".
Fabar was closely contested by the ’32 Ford Roadsters
of Daniel Cassar and David Winter.

The first Meguiar's
Superstars Champion for Custom Motorcycles was awarded
to Wes Spark by the narrowest of margins for his radically
designed and intensely engineered "Phat". Finalists
included "Excalibur" by GLH Frames and 'Tresspasser"
by Doc Hogs.

The three Superstars ‘Best
Of Breed’ Champions each received $5,000 cash and
a magnificent ‘masterpiece’
billet trophy. The other twenty Superstars Finalists
in the three categories each received $1,500 cash and
a commemorative jacket. |
