Meguiar’s MotorEx, the largest and most prestigious motoring enthusiast event of its kind in Australia, took place on Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th July at the Sydney Showground. With over $60 million worth of spectacular vehicles on display the event has established itself as the most prestigious gathering of custom vehicles in Australia! It provides fantastic and unique opportunities for everyone to be involved from motoring clubs and organisations, individual enthusiasts to motoring businesses and general commercial traders.

The show covers everything from Hot Rods, Street Machines, Custom Motorcycles and Hi-tech Tuners to the finest examples of American muscle, high performance speed machines, sports racing vehicles and timeless classics! The House of Kolor Inauguration on the Saturday morning drew a huge crowd to witness the unveiling of 9 never before seen vehicles. Amongst the 7 cars and 2 bikes unveiled this year was “Jealous Ahura”. This radical transformation of a Madza RX7 was undertaken in Malaysia and brought over specially for unveiling at MotorEx. Endowed with 10,000 ruby red Swarovski crystals and with more bling than Ali G this car created a huge buzz.

The crowd favourite Meguiar’s Superstars Final was another blockbuster with twenty-five of Australia’s best hot rods, street machines and high tech tuners competing for Australia’s most prestigious and coveted show car awards. The newly expanded competition introduced six new awards this year to further recognise and reward our top show car builders.

The Liqui Moly Custom Auto Expo is a show within a show at Meguiars MotorEx and features the NSW State Title Show. This was again a highly contested event featuring many of the country’s top cars. Meguiar’s MotorEx just keeps getting better each year, with a new feature this year being the 2009 Shannon’s Classic Vehicle Auction, previously located at the Sydney International Motor Show. With over 30 lots ranging from an Iron Horse Harley Chopper to a Ferrari 328 GTB Koenig 'Wide-Body' Coupe, the auction drew a large crowd and was a great success.
